What Pontia is
Pontia is a free planning tool and information site for people who want to start a business, or find work, while on an out-of-work benefit. It is independent and is not a government service.
Not advice
Everything on the site is general information and illustrative estimates, simplified from official sources that are linked and dated. It is not financial, tax, legal or benefits advice. Rules change and your own circumstances change the outcome: always check with your benefit office, the official source or an adviser before you act.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for what you report to your benefit office, the applications you make and the decisions you take. Pontia never applies, logs in or files anything for you.
Free, and how we are paid
Pontia is free. Some links to third-party tools are affiliate links: if you sign up, we may earn a fee at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend, and free options are always shown first. We never promote loans, overdrafts or insurance.

Links to official sites and third-party tools are provided for convenience. Their terms and prices apply, and we are not responsible for their content or services.
Acceptable use
Do not misuse the site: no attempts to break it, scrape it at a rate that harms it, or post unlawful content in the community directory. We may remove listings that break these terms.
Liability
We work to keep the information accurate and dated, but we cannot guarantee it is complete or current. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for losses from relying on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
