Self-employment income counts as wages, is reported weekly and is deducted under the partial formula. You must still be able, available and looking for work (Benefit Determination Guide TPU 415.05). If weekly earnings are $100 or less, the first $25 is ignored; if $101 or more, the first 25% is ignored. The remainder is subtracted from the weekly benefit. EDD sets no fixed weekly number: it suggests keeping a record of search dates and contacts, and the Notice of Award (DE 429Z) gives individual work search instructions.
